Three key elements to getting into shape.
In order to learn how to diet and exercise effectively, and by doing so, save yourself lots of time, effort, and probably money too, you need to have an understanding of the three key elements that must work together as one complete system. If just one of these elements is missing, or flawed, then you will probably struggle to achieve your goal, be that to lose weight, get fitter, get stronger or all of the above.
In this article, I will lay out the three things that you will need to get right, and give a brief overview of each, and their importance. Each one will be covered in more detail individually in future articles, so be sure to read the whole series of articles that I am writing, to give yourself the best chance of success.
So, what are the three necessary elements?
Element one-Diet.
This is by far, and without doubt, the most important element in any weight loss program. In reality, when you say you want to lose weight, what you really mean is that you want to lose fat. For that reason, I will no longer use the term "weight loss", but instead I will refer to it as "fat loss". The goal for most people is to be able to look in the mirror and think to themselves, yeah, I look good. I look fit. I look healthy. It doesn't matter how much you weigh, what matters is how much body fat you are carrying. Everybody s muscles. If we didn't, it would be impossible for us to move. The problem is that for most of us, those muscles are covered in a layer of body fat, hiding those muscles. The idea of a healthy diet is to reduce the amount of body fat that we are carrying, but with diet alone, losing body fat is very difficult. Having said that though, it is important to realize that diet is the most important of the three key elements. So important in fact, that I would say that it is 80 per cent of the battle. Get the diet right and you have the foundation to build everything else on. With that in mind I will cover diet in much more depth in my next article.
Element two-Exercise.
Another key contributor to losing body fat is exercise. Lean muscle takes a lot of energy to maintain, and in basic terms, energy = calories. Therefore, the more lean muscle we have, the more calories we burn just to maintain it. This has obvious results as the basic formula for fat loss is use more than you take in, creating a calorie deficit. With the right process in place, your body will then be forced to use body fat for fuel, and not calories taken in from food. Again, this is a vastly important and complicated subject that I will cover in much more detail in an upcoming article.
Element three-supplements.
This key element may seem a bit unnecessary to you, but just think of the importance of diet and exercise in fat loss, and then think of the importance of using a tool that can increase the effectiveness of these. That is where supplements come in. Why not maximize the effectiveness of what you are doing, in order to reach your goals quicker. After all, this series is about not wasting your time is it not? As mentioned above, this is quite a complicated subject to cover, so again I will go into more detail in an upcoming article.
Now you know what I consider to be the three most important things to master in order for you to achieve your goal of losing fat and knowing how to diet and exercise effectively and stop wasting your time. Please join me again where I will go into much more depth on each of these subjects.
To your health,
